Social Impact Campaign
Project type
Advocacy Communication Design
Date
January, 2026
Location
Canada
This project develops a visual awareness campaign addressing homelessness through storytelling, contrast, and emotionally driven messaging designed to challenge public assumptions and increase empathy toward people experiencing housing insecurity. The campaign translates complex social issues into accessible visual communication that encourages reflection, recognition, and community responsibility.
Homelessness affects hundreds of thousands of Canadians each year, approximately 235,000 people annually, yet public perception often overlooks the structural causes that lead to housing instability. Awareness campaigns play an important role in reframing homelessness as a preventable social issue rather than an individual condition.
Through posters, campaign messaging, and supporting communication elements, the project demonstrates how design can reduce stigma, increase visibility, and encourage engagement with social support systems. By emphasizing dignity, visibility, and shared responsibility, the campaign positions graphic design as a tool for advocacy and public education within community-centered communication initiatives.
