Conceptual Typography Application
Date
March, 2026
Location

This project explores the integration of typography into footwear design, transforming letterforms into a visual and structural element applied directly onto shoes. The work investigates how typography can move beyond flat compositions and exist as a three-dimensional, tactile design component that interacts with form, material, and movement.
Inspired by expressive typographic approaches such as New Wave design, which breaks traditional grid structures and treats type as a dynamic visual system rather than purely functional text, the project experiments with scale, placement, and composition to create bold, unconventional outcomes.
Through the combination of typography and product form, the design challenges conventional boundaries between graphic design and fashion, demonstrating how type can communicate identity, energy, and personality in physical objects. The result is a conceptual exploration that positions typography as both message and material—blending visual communication with wearable design.
