Website UX/UI Redesign
Project type
Restaurant Website Design
Date
November, 2025
Location
Canada
This project presents a complete website redesign for Georgie’s Shawarma, focused on transforming a basic informational site into a culturally rich and emotionally engaging digital experience. The redesign addresses key usability and visual issues in the original website, including inconsistent typography, crowded layouts, weak hierarchy, and lack of storytelling.
The new design introduces a structured grid system, cohesive typography, and a clear visual hierarchy to improve readability and navigation. A strong narrative approach guides users through the experience, beginning with the restaurant’s identity and heritage, moving into food presentation, and ending with community connection. The headline “Born in Syria. Grilled in Sault Ste. Marie.” anchors the concept by linking cultural roots with local presence.
Warm color palettes, Middle Eastern-inspired patterns, and authentic food photography are used to reflect the restaurant’s identity and create a sense of trust and familiarity. The menu is redesigned using modular card layouts to simplify browsing and improve clarity, while clear calls to action support intuitive user flow.
By combining storytelling, cultural expression, and user-centered design principles, the project demonstrates how a website can move beyond functionality to become a meaningful brand experience that communicates authenticity, warmth, and connection.
